Women’s entrepreneurship has a tremendous potential in empowering women and transforming society. Yet this potential remains largely untapped in South Asia, with less than ten per cent of the entrepreneurs being women. This paper reviews some of the issues concerning women entrepreneurship in South Asia, considers good practices for developing women entrepreneurs and provides an overview of some of the initiatives in South Asia to promote women entrepreneurs.
