This series presents comprehensive tables displaying the results of the 2002 Revision of the official world population estimates and projections prepared by the Population Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. It presents the key demographic indicators for each country for the period 1950-2050. The tables are accompanied by a brief text presenting the highlights of the results. This is a second report in a three-volume set. It presents the age and sex distribution of the population data. New in this particular volume are projections and estimates that factor in the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the most effected regions. The first volume contains comprehensive tables presenting demographic profiles for all countries of the world, while the third volume is devoted to an in-depth analysis of the results obtained.
