Acts and Documents Concerning the Organization of the Court/Actes et documents relatifs à l'organisation de la Cour

This series consists of the International Court of Justice's various basic documents as adopted and amended since its creation. Seven bilingual editions (English and French) have been published since 1946, the latest being in 2021. They include the Charter of the United Nations, the Statute of the International Court of Justice, the Rules of Court, the Practice Directions, the Resolution concerning the Internal Judicial Practice of the Court and a number of other texts. These volumes also include exhaustive indexes in both the official languages of the Court.


Asia-Pacific Population Journal

For over two decades, the Asia-Pacific Population Journal (APPJ) has been taking the pulse of population and social issues unfolding in the region. Published by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), APPJ brings out high quality, evidence-based and forward-looking articles relevant for population policies and programmes in Asia and the Pacific. Prominent population experts, award-winning demographers, as well as lesser known researchers have been contributing articles, documenting over the years the evolution of thinking in this important sphere.

Bibliography of the International Court of Justice/Bibliographie de la Cour Internationale de Justice

The Registry of the Court usually prepares a bibliography of work and documents that relate to the institution and that were collected during the previous year. Bibliographies Nos. 1-18 formed Chapter IX of the Yearbook and the Annuaire up to the 1963-1964 edition. Subsequent bibliographies were issued as separate fascicles between 1964 and 2003. Starting with Bibliography No. 58, they are published digitally. Le greffe de la Cour prépare généralement une bibliographie des travaux et documents relatifs à l'institution et qui ont été rassemblés au cours de l'année précédente. Les bibliographies nos 1-18 ont constitué le chapitre IX du Yearbook et de l'Annuaire jusqu'à l'édition 1963-1964. Les bibliographies suivantes ont été publiées sous forme de fascicules séparés entre 1964 et 2003. À partir de la bibliographie n° 58, elles sont publiées sous forme numérique.

Bulletin on Population and Vital Statistics in the Arab Region

The Bulletin on Population and Vital Statistics in the ESCWA Region presents data on population, fertility, mortality, marriages and divorces compiled from a number of national sources, including surveys, censuses and vital registration systems. The objective of this bulletin is to encourage countries to produce and disseminate high quality data on population and vital statistics, which is much needed for better planning. It is also meant to meet the needs of data users, especially researchers, academics and others working in the fields of population, reproductive health and development; it provides them with a thorough and comprehensive picture on population growth and its dynamics.


Demographic Yearbook (Ser. R)

The United Nations Demographic Yearbook collects, compiles and disseminates official statistics on a wide range of topics. Data have been collected from national statistical authorities since 1948 through a set of questionnaires dispatched annually by the United Nations Statistics Division to over 230 national statistical offices. The Demographic Yearbook disseminates statistics on population size and composition, births, deaths, marriage and divorce on an annual basis. Demographic Yearbook special topics issues cover a wide range of additional topics including economic activity, educational attainment, household characteristics, housing, ethnicity and language, among others.

International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) Special Bibliography / Bibliographie spéciale sur le Tribunal pénal international pour le Rwanda (TPIR)

Since the establishment of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) by the UN Security Council in 1994, a substantial volume of judicial records has been produced documenting the trial and appellate processes at the ICTR. Those processes have, over years of judicial activity, produced a new, unique and evolving jurisprudence in the field of international criminal justice. That jurisprudence has inspired a large number of legal professionals and scholars around the world to carry out research on a number of novel issues arising from prosecuting the crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes at an international level. The impact of the ICTR jurisprudence on the quest for the generation of new knowledge has been demonstrated by the global response to the compendious Special Bibliography compiled by the Legal Library.


Latin America and the Caribbean Demographic Observatory / Observatorio Demográfico América Latina y el Caribe

Demographic Observatory presents estimates and projections of the population of the 20 countries of Latin America, for the period 1950-2100. Demographic Observatory follows a standard format containing information that is updated annually and is prepared by CELADE-Population Division of ECLAC. 


Law of the Sea Bulletin

The Law of the Sea Bulletin provides cogent and timely information on important issues related to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Issued three times a year, it provides legal material relevant to the Law of the Sea including national legislation, bilateral agreements and multilateral treaties as well as information on decisions of the International Court of Justice, arbitration tribunals and other dispute settlement procedures.

Multilateral treaties deposited with the Secretary-General

This publication provides information on the status of over 500 major multilateral instruments deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations (including the texts of reservations, declarations and objections) and covers a range of subject matter such as Human Rights, Disarmament, Commodities, Refugees, the Environment and the Law of the Sea. The number of treaties deposited with the Secretary-General keeps growing steadily. This publication reflects the status of these instruments, as Member States sign, ratify, accede or lodge declarations, reservations or objections. It is available in English and French.
