The Bulletin on Population and Vital Statistics in the ESCWA Region presents data on population, fertility, mortality, marriages and divorces compiled from a number of national sources, including surveys, censuses and vital registration systems. The objective of this bulletin is to encourage countries to produce and disseminate high quality data on population and vital statistics, which is much needed for better planning. It is also meant to meet the needs of data users, especially researchers, academics and others working in the fields of population, reproductive health and development; it provides them with a thorough and comprehensive picture on population growth and its dynamics.
Country Profiles on Housing and Land Management
The Country Profile reports contain in-depth analysis of housing, urban development and land management sectors while focusing on specific challenges or achievements in these sectors. These include housing provision and affordability; management and maintenance of the housing stock; energy efficiency in housing; disaster risk mitigation; urbanization; housing finance; and the legal and institutional framework. The reports also lay out sets of policy recommendations to help in meeting these challenges.
Demographic Yearbook (Ser. R)
The United Nations Demographic Yearbook collects, compiles and disseminates official statistics on a wide range of topics. Data have been collected from national statistical authorities since 1948 through a set of questionnaires dispatched annually by the United Nations Statistics Division to over 230 national statistical offices. The Demographic Yearbook disseminates statistics on population size and composition, births, deaths, marriage and divorce on an annual basis. Global Education Monitoring Report
This publication aims to monitor progress towards the education targets within the Sustainable Development Goals framework. It is a singular, comprehensive, analytical and authoritative reference for the global follow-up and review of education.
