Global and Regional Programme Evaluations
Global, regional and South-South programme evaluations assess the performance and intended and achieved results of those programmes. They are intended to reinforce the substantive accountability of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to the Executive Board, and will be timed to contribute to the preparation and approval of the next programme.
Macroeconomic Report on Latin America and the Caribbean
The Macroeconomic Report on Latin America and the Caribbean is an ECLAC publication designed to meet the need for up-to-date analysis of the region’s macroeconomic performance amid shifting conditions. With this publication, ECLAC aims to make the results of its integrated informative and analytical approach available to public institutions, the media, academia, private analysts and the broader public, covering salient aspects of current conditions as well as structural traits of the region’s macroeconomic development.
MDG Gap Task Force Report
The MDG Gap Task Force was created by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in May 2007 to improve monitoring of the global commitments contained in MDG 8, the Global Partnership for Development. The main purpose of the Task Force is to systematically track existing international commitments and to identify gaps and obstacles in their fulfillment at the international, regional and country level in the areas of official development assistance, market access (trade), debt sustainability, and access to essential medicines and new technologies. The Task Force integrates more than 30 United Nations and other international agencies. An annual report of the MDG Gap Task Force is published each September.
Millennium Development Goals Report
This annual report presents the most comprehensive global assessment of progress to date, based on data provided by a large number of international organizations within and outside the United Nations system. The aggregate figures in the report provide an overview of regional progress under the eight goals and are a convenient way to track advances over time. The report is coordinated and published by the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
National Accounts Statistics: Government Accounts and Tables
The publication contains detailed official national accounts data for over 200 countries or areas of the World. It is a valuable source of information on the state and structure of economies worldwide. The data for each country or area are presented in separate chapters with uniform table headings and classifications as recommended in the System of National Accounts 1993 (1993 SNA). Each country chapter also contains a write-up on the methodology and data sources which are used to compile the national accounts. A summary of the SNA conceptual framework, classifications, definitions, is also included in the publication. It contains statistics on gross domestic product by expenditure at current and constant prices and the relations among product, income, saving and net lending; value added by kind of activity at current and constant prices, and output, gross value added and fixed assets by industry; classification of consumption expenditure of general government, households, and non-profit institutions serving households according to purpose; production account through the financial account for the institutional sectors; and cross classification of gross value added by industry and institutional sector.
Report on the World Social Situation
The Report on the World Social Situation (RWSS) is prepared on a biennial basis by the Division for Social Policy and Development of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). Over the years, the Report has served as a background document for discussion and policy analysis of socio-economic matters at the intergovernmental level, and has aimed at contributing to the identification of emerging social trends of international concern and to the analysis of relationships among major development issues which have both international and national dimensions.
Statistical Yearbook for Asia and the Pacific
The ESCAP Statistical Yearbook for Asia and the Pacific is published every other year. It provides a regional perspective on development issues in Asia and the Pacific. It covers a wide range of topics on population, education, health, poverty and inequalities, gender, economy, environment and connectivity.
Thematic Evaluation Reports
This series assesses United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) performance in areas that are critical to ensuring sustained contribution to development results in the context of emerging development issues and changing priorities at the global and regional levels. To this end, thematic evaluations may cover, for example, UNDP policies, focus areas, partnerships, programmatic approaches, cooperation modalities, or business models. The Evaluation Office also engages in evaluations conducted jointly with other United Nations organizations to assess system-wide performance.
