For over two decades, the Asia-Pacific Population Journal (APPJ) has been taking the pulse of population and social issues unfolding in the region. Published by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), APPJ brings out high quality, evidence-based and forward-looking articles relevant for population policies and programmes in Asia and the Pacific. Making Cities Resilient Report

This periodical covers cities' and local governments' efforts to protect their cities and make them safer and productive places to live and work. With more that half of the world's population living in urban areas, building resilience to natural hazards has become a pressing challenge that cannot be ignored. Recognition of the inextricable links among disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and sustainable development reveals the critical challenges that still remain.
