Volumes in this series are published as soon as possible after the closure of each case and contain the documentation that relates to that case in its original language, which is either English or French. These are divided into three parts. Firstly, the document instituting the proceedings and the written pleadings. Secondly, the verbatim record of the oral proceedings. And thirdly, any documents submitted to the Court after the closure of the written proceedings. One or more volumes are issued for each case. Note that volumes that were released up to 31 December 1964 (Sales No. 286) are sold in cloth hardbound form whereas subsequent volumes are paperbound. Les volumes de cette série sont publiés dès que possible après la clôture de chaque affaire et contiennent la documentation relative à ladite affaire dans sa langue d'origine, soit l'anglais ou le français. Ceux-ci sont divisés en trois parties. En premier lieu, l'acte introductif d'instance et les pièces de procédure écrites. Deuxièmement, le compte rendu de la procédure orale. Et troisièmement, tout document soumis à la Cour après la clôture de la procédure écrite. Un ou plusieurs volumes sont publiés pour chaque cas. International arbitral and judicial awards are of considerable importance, for they are a "subsidiary means for the determination of the rules of law" as provided in Article 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice. They are also important from the point of view of the progressive development of international law, a task which Article 13 of the Charter places under the responsibility of the General Assembly of the United Nations.Prior to the publication of the United Nations Reports of International Arbitral Awards, there existed no systematic collection of such decisions. Yet the need of one had been felt for a long while by the various national and international bodies concerned with international law and by all those interested in its development. This publication is prepared by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs.
Reports of Judgments, Advisory Opinions and Orders/Recueil des arrêts, avis consultatifs et ordonnances
This series contains the reports of the decisions of the Court in both English and French. Each decision is published separately immediately after having been rendered in an unbound format. At the end of the year these separate decisions are collected in one single volume. At the beginning of each following year an analytical index is published concerning the previous year’s decisions. The collected decisions, complete with an index for each given year are sold ready bound in one or more cloth hardbound volume(s). Note that concerning decisions that relate to any particular case it will generally be necessary to refer to several volumes. Cette série contient les rapports des décisions de la Cour en anglais et en français. Chaque décision est publiée séparément et immédiatement après avoir été rendue dans un format non relié. A la fin de chaque année, ces décisions séparées sont rassemblées en un seul volume unique. Au début de chaque année suivante, un index analytique est publié concernant les décisions de l'année précédente. Les décisions recueillies, accompagnées d'un index pour chaque année donnée, sont vendues reliées en un ou plusieurs volumes reliés en tissu. This publication is issued monthly by the Treaty Section of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs pursuant to article 13 of the UN Regulations prior to their publication in the UNTS pursuant to Article 102 of the UN Charter. It contains detailed record of treaties and related subsequent treaty actions which were registered or filed and recorded with the United Nations Secretariat on a given month. It is updated monthly. United Nations Statistical Yearbook / Annuaire Statistique des Nations Unies (Ser. S)
The Statistical Yearbook provides a comprehensive compilation of internationally available statistics on social and economic conditions and activities, at world, regional and national levels, for an appropriate historical period. Most of the statistics presented in the Yearbook are extracted from more detailed, specialized databases prepared by the Statistics Division and by many other international statistical services. Thus, while the specialized databases concentrate on monitoring topics and trends in particular social and economic fields, the Statistical Yearbook tables aim to provide data for a more comprehensive, overall description of social and economic structures, conditions, changes and activities. The objective has been to collect, systematize, coordinate and present in a consistent way the most essential components of comparable statistical information which can give a broad picture of social and economic processes.United Nations Treaty Series / Recueil des Traites des Nations Unies
In accordance with Article 102 of the Charter and the relevant General Assembly Resolutions, every treaty and international agreement registered or filed and recorded with the Secretariat since 1946 is published in the United Nations Treaty Series. At present, the collection includes about 30,000 treaties reproduced in their authentic languages, together with translations into English and French, as necessary. / Conformément à l'article 102 de la Charte et aux résolutions pertinentes de l'Assemblée générale, tous les traités et accords internationaux enregistrés ou classés auprès du Secrétariat depuis 1946 sont publiés dans le Recueil des traités. A Yearbook is published annually in which an account is given of the work of the Court during the period ranging from 1 August of the preceding year to 31 July of the current year. This publication, previously produced in two editions, one in English (Yearbook) and one in French (Annuaire), is now published in a single bilingual volume. The Yearbooks/Annuaires were published in cloth hardbound form until 1963-1964 and have been printed paperbound since then.
