This series consists of the International Court of Justice's various basic documents as adopted and amended since its creation. Seven bilingual editions (English and French) have been published since 1946, the latest being in 2021. They include the Charter of the United Nations, the Statute of the International Court of Justice, the Rules of Court, the Practice Directions, the Resolution concerning the Internal Judicial Practice of the Court and a number of other texts. These volumes also include exhaustive indexes in both the official languages of the Court.
African statistical yearbook / Annuaire statistique pour l'Afrique
The Yearbook series is a result of collaborative efforts by major African regional organizations to set up a joint data collection mechanism of socioeconomic data on African countries, as well as the development of a harmonized database. It seeks to promote wider use of country data, reduce costs, significantly improve the availability and quality of the data, and lead to better monitoring of development initiatives on the continent.
Bibliography of the International Court of Justice/Bibliographie de la Cour Internationale de Justice
The Registry of the Court usually prepares a bibliography of work and documents that relate to the institution and that were collected during the previous year. Bibliographies Nos. 1-18 formed Chapter IX of the Yearbook and the Annuaire up to the 1963-1964 edition. Subsequent bibliographies were issued as separate fascicles between 1964 and 2003. Starting with Bibliography No. 58, they are published digitally. The energy statistics activities by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) comprise of: Collection and dissemination of international energy statistics, including basic data as well as aggregated tables, energy balances and electricity profiles; Methodological work; Technical co-operation and coordination. UNSD collects energy statistics from more than 190 countries and updates and maintains the Energy Statistics Database. The Industrial Commodity Statistics Yearbook provides statistics on the production of about 600 major industrial commodities. The commodities have been selected on the basis of their importance in world production and trade. The Yearbook provides data on the quantities and values of industrial production for the major industrial commodities. The Yearbook is therefore organized in two volumes: Volume I: Physical Quantity Data and Volume II: Monetary Value Data.
International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) Special Bibliography / Bibliographie spéciale sur le Tribunal pénal international pour le Rwanda (TPIR)
Since the establishment of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) by the UN Security Council in 1994, a substantial volume of judicial records has been produced documenting the trial and appellate processes at the ICTR. Those processes have, over years of judicial activity, produced a new, unique and evolving jurisprudence in the field of international criminal justice. That jurisprudence has inspired a large number of legal professionals and scholars around the world to carry out research on a number of novel issues arising from prosecuting the crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes at an international level. The impact of the ICTR jurisprudence on the quest for the generation of new knowledge has been demonstrated by the global response to the compendious Special Bibliography compiled by the Legal Library.

Volumes in this series are published as soon as possible after the closure of each case and contain the documentation that relates to that case in its original language, which is either English or French. These are divided into three parts. Firstly, the document instituting the proceedings and the written pleadings. Secondly, the verbatim record of the oral proceedings. And thirdly, any documents submitted to the Court after the closure of the written proceedings. One or more volumes are issued for each case. Note that volumes that were released up to 31 December 1964 (Sales No. 286) are sold in cloth hardbound form whereas subsequent volumes are paperbound. International arbitral and judicial awards are of considerable importance, for they are a "subsidiary means for the determination of the rules of law" as provided in Article 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice. They are also important from the point of view of the progressive development of international law, a task which Article 13 of the Charter places under the responsibility of the General Assembly of the United Nations.Prior to the publication of the United Nations Reports of International Arbitral Awards, there existed no systematic collection of such decisions. Yet the need of one had been felt for a long while by the various national and international bodies concerned with international law and by all those interested in its development. This publication is prepared by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs.
