In an effort to have a more effective, efficient and desirable process of coping with data-related issues in global reporting, this publication, through the inaugural meeting of the Core Data Working Group for Integrated Environment Assessment, presents a list of limited number of existing core data sets for Integrated Environment Assessments and Global Environment Outlook studies and identifies major data gaps and shortcomings. It also presents a set of realistic strategies and actions to make such data more easily accessible to agencies and institutions.
