This Handbook is the result of a participatory process involving more than thirty-three youth drug abuse prevention programmes worldwide. Most of the information comes from real-life experiences of youth and adults involved in these programmes. The Handbook highlights their concerns and ideas in the hope that they will contribute to develop and improve youth drug prevention programmes. Additional information is derived from the experiences of NGOs and selected United Nations Agencies (UNICEF, WHO, UNESCO, UNAIDS, UNFPA).
