A Survey of the Literature with a Focus on Latin America and the Caribbean

Format *
This paper presents a critical survey of the literature on economic globalization and gender, with a specific focus on Latin American and Caribbean studies. The objectives of the survey are twofold: 1) to uncover the gender dimension of the economic globalization process; and 2) to summarize major findings as well as the conceptual and methodological problems in the assessment of various authors of the impacts of different aspects of economic globalization on women’s well-being and status.
