About the product

Sustainable development requires part of the Earth's land area, such as National Parks, to be set aside as protected areas. Tourism activity in such an area can serve as a self-financing mechanism, but this will only be possible with appropriate management. This book offers guidelines, drawn-up by the World Tourism Organization and the United Nations Environmental Programme, to management personnel of National Parks and related protected areas with the hope that tourism will play a role in protecting the environment.
