About the product

This publication provides a detailed picture of the situation in which financial management takes place in transitional economies including countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (comprising the Baltic republics, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Georgia). Financial Management analyzes the factors in the economic and policy environment, which have impeded or expedited the financial development, and gives insights into current institutional aspects. Ultimately the publication presents an overview and conclusion drawing attention to the government's role in financial reform and in accounting reform, and to the key role of the banking system and of banking reform.
