E-Commerce, WTO and Developing Countries

Format *
Electronic commerce offers unprecedented opportunities to both developing and developed countries. This paper notes that in the long run, developing countries have more to benefit from electronic commerce. The publication discusses the policy issues e-commerce raises for the World Trade Organization (WTO) and developing countries, and looks at possible policy measures that might maximize the benefits developing countries derive from it. It also offers an analytical discussion regarding which multilateral rules should be applied to commerce via the Internet.
