This publication presents an overview of different approaches to the design of time-use surveys. In addition, it reviews methods and practices in collecting, processing and disseminating time-use statistics through a compilation of country experiences. The Guide serves as a reference for countries interested in undertaking time-use surveys. It is aimed at facilitating the harmonization of methods and practices in collecting, processing and disseminating time-use statistics. The Guide also introduces the proposed International Classification of Activities for Time-Use Statistics (ICATUS).
