This paper contains deliberations of the working group on remote sensing and the geographic information system established during the United Nations Expert Meeting on the Regional Centres for Space Science and Technological Education: Status and Future Development held in Frascati, Italy, in September 2001. The group met to review and update curricula at the university level and across cultures worldwide in remote sensing and the geographic information system. This paper reveals the curriculum and academic performance evaluation of six courses on the same topic, as they were conducted at the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific.
