The Disarmament Study Series highlights United Nations General Assembly studies in the field of disarmament undertaken by groups of governmental experts. This report submitted to the Secretary-General by the Group of Governmental Experts on Confidence-building Measures is in pursuance of General Assembly resolution 34/87 B of 11 December 1979. It reaffirms the conviction that commitment to confidence-building measures could contribute to strengthening the security of States and took note of the views transmitted by Member States.
