About the product

The Asian continent represents the world’s most populous region with most of the world’s largest cities and it is the global economic powerhouse of the future. Almost two-thirds of the global population without access to safe drinking water and three-fourths of the world’s population without access to safe sanitation live in Asia. The publication aims at supporting the country governments of the region in achieving their localized MDGs relating to water and sanitation by sharing such solutions that can be easily replicated, scaled up and sustainable besides being cost-effective and innovative. It also presents 58 Local Actions being practiced in 26 Nations of the Asia-Pacific region which are pro-poor, affordable, appropriate, culturally accepted and extremely useful. It serves as a Guide Book for country governments and functionaries at all levels of operation.
