The sixty-fifth session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific was held against the backdrop of an economic crisis, food/fuel price volatility and climate change, a triple threat that could roll back development gains. The implications of this triple threat for the Asia-Pacific region were therefore high on the agenda of the Commission as members discussed ways of dealing with the crises.
