World Social Report

The World Social Report is the flagship publication on major social development issues of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations. The report identifies current and emerging social trends and provides analysis on major development issues occurring at both the national and international levels. Offering guidance to policymakers with agenda-setting and decision making, the report aims to strengthen the social dimension of sustainable development.


World Statistics Pocketbook (Ser. V)

The World Statistics Pocketbook is an annual compilation of key statistical indicators prepared by the United Nations Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs. The topics covered include: agriculture, balance of payments, education, energy, environment, food, gender, health, industrial production, information and communication, international finance, international tourism, international trade, labour, migration, national accounts, population and prices.

World Survey of the Role of Women in Development

The World Survey on the Role of Women in Development is a UN Secretary-General report mandated by the Second Committee of the General Assembly and comes out every five years. 


World Wildlife Crime Report

The trafficking of wildlife is increasingly recognized as both a specialized area of organized crime and a significant threat to many plant and animal species. The World Wildlife Crime Report takes stock of the present wildlife crime situation with a focus on illicit trafficking of specific protected species of wild fauna and flora, and provides a broad assessment of the nature and extent of the problem at the global level. It includes a quantitative market assessment and a series of in-depth illicit trade case studies. 


World Youth Report

Young people hold the key to world's future. Their ambitions, goals and aspirations for peace, security, development and human rights are often in accord with those of society as a whole. The United Nations World Youth Report is published by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). It outlines the keys issues and situations faced by of young people across the globe. 


Yearbook of the International Court of Justice

A Yearbook is published annually in which an account is given of the work of the Court during the period ranging from 1 August of the preceding year to 31 July of the current year. This publication, previously produced in two editions, one in English (Yearbook) and one in French (Annuaire), is now published in a single bilingual volume. The Yearbooks/Annuaires were published in cloth hardbound form until 1963-1964 and have been printed paperbound since then.
