About the product

One problem that is related to the increasing level of trade is the use of ports. The successful experience of privatization in such countries as the United Kingdom, Australia and Malaysia, has encouraged other countries to formulate policies for private sector participation. This publication reviews the reasons for and experience of public/private partnerships in infrastructure in the Asia and the Pacific region. Case studies and examples have been included to illustrate how some of the issues and problems have been successfully tackled and to provide practical guidance and suggestions for countries wishing to expedite the formation of public/private partnerships.
