About the product

In Asia, the rapid economic growth of the past two decades was accompanied by a fast growing demand for commercial energy and increasing energy intensities in some countries. Promotion of efficiency in energy systems and energy demand management have become important dimensions of energy policy. This publication reflects on the history of the emergence of energy conservation and energy efficiency centres and examines country experiences with energy conservation promotion policies. It also includes a directory of selected energy conservation and energy efficiency centres in Asia, with brief introductory profiles of their activities and contact addresses.
