About the product
In recent years there has been increasing concern around the world over chemicals in the environment. This publication covers: pollution due to industrial chemicals, air pollution, acidification, pollution due to agricultural activities, eutrophication, oil pollution and solid waste disposal. For each of these topics a description is given of the process or phenomenon, followed by a discussion of its impact on humans and the environment and a set of control measures. Recommendations are made with regard to each category. This is a joint publication of the International Register of Potentially Toxic Chemicals and the GEMS Monitoring and Assessment Research Centre.
