About the product

Increasingly, the demilitarization of post-conflict societies and collection of small arms and ammunition are being viewed as essential factors in the establishment of public order in communities emerging from violent civil conflict. As a result, over the past decade, demobilization and weapon collection programmes administered by international agencies together with national governments and local communities have become commonplace approaches to post-conflict reconstruction. This study presents the results of the Albania case study of UNIDIR’s “weapons-for-development” project.
