About the product

Air transport is a competitive industry and it creates jobs, fosters economic growth and largely contributes to the concept of ‘World Progress’. The conditions and regulations in which civil aviation operates must be further developed in order to satisfy and reconcile customer expectations and environmental requirements. In this regard, it is crucial to first restore public confidence after the tragic events of 11 September 2001. Infrastructure bottlenecks also have to be properly solved or anticipated. The Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) proposes ‘Partnerships’ to meet society’s growing mobility needs as a direct response to the major challenges facing air transport in a sustainable world. ATAG’s strategy is aimed not only at cutting noise and emissions and reducing congestion, but also at maximizing the social and economic benefits of air transport. Based on an overall assessment of aviation’s role, this report underlines air transport’s full commitment to sustainability.
