Democratic Governance and the Social Condition in the Anglophone Caribbean

Format *
The practice of good governance is facing considerable jeopardy in Latin America and the Caribbean. Within the socio-economic context, demographic governance partially results from efficient and effective management structures and the promotion of quality civic engagement in the processes and institutions of democracy. This publication discusses the apparent weakening of good governance within the Anglophone Caribbean. It addresses 'good governance' in the context of structural adjustment, parliamentary accountability, the judicial system, corruption and drug trafficking, poverty and country size, among other areas.
