About the product

It is generally agreed that export diversification in terms of both non-traditional and traditional commodities is critical to growth and development in small, low-income economies such as least developed countries (LDCs). This publication provides an empirical examination of the export diversification experience of selected Asian LDCs (Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal) and statistical tests of the linkages between export diversification and economic development. Drawing upon the successful export diversification experience of Malaysia, the study provides useful policy suggestions for LDCs to enhance their export performance.
