This report is intended to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of information on gender and economics. It contributes to the research and analysis of recent trends in globalization and economic liberalization by examining changes in the roles performed by women and men and reviewing the development policies adopted. Some of the subjects inluded in the bibliography are the effects of global and national economic processes on the traditional roles carried out by men and women; the impact of gender stereotypes on their economic opportunities; international trade, with an emphasis on the opportunities and restrictions it entails for women; liberalization of financial market, financial crises, and their effects on the population.
