About the product
UNICEF’s flagship report on progress towards the MDGs presents alarming evidence of growing disparities in the lives of children across a wide range of indicators. The report assesses three primary factors – poverty, gender and geographic location of residence – which greatly affect a child’s chances of growing up healthy, protected and educated. The findings of the new study show how an equity-based approach – focusing on the needs of the most disadvantaged children, can be a cost effective strategy to reach MDGs 4 and 5 (reducing child and maternal mortality).
