This publication presents an analysis and interpretation of the situation of cooling household appliances (CHA) in four European countries - Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary and the Ukraine. The extensive survey carried out in these countries contribute to the knowledge and understanding of the issues at stake in the area of energy efficiency and environmental friendliness, and therefore helps in identifying possible scenarios of improvement that could be undertaken. Along with a study on technical characteristics and energy consumption, the publication also presents information on market structure; laws, regulations and standards; stock of appliances; family habits and behaviour; and countries energy data.
