About the product
With the reform and opening up of the Chinese economy and progress in structural transition of Mongolia and the Russian Federation, new opportunities for economic cooperation among the North-East Asian countries are expected to increase. It is essential that an appropriate transport and logistics system including adequate maritime shipping and port services be developed to facilitate the efficient and safe flow of trade within the region. This study reviews recent development of shipping and ports in North-East Asia and identifies bottlenecks to shipping and port development in the subregion.
