The Future of Cities was one of the five key parallel events held during the Nineteenth Session of the UN-HABITAT Governing Council. The objective of the parallel event was to explore and discuss how cities are likely to develop in the twenty-first century, in terms of their form and functions and taking into consideration current and anticipated future trends, as well as to prognosticate on the policies and strategies that could be developed to steer things in the desirable direction.
