About the product
This paper contains deliberations of the working group on satellite communications that was established during the United Nations Expert Meeting on the Regional Centres for Space Science and Technological Education: Status and Future Development, held in Frascati, Italy, in September 2001. It reviews the curriculum of courses that were held at the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific and presents a broad outline of topics that should be part of an effective satellite communications curriculum. The objective of the paper is to enhance national and regional capabilities worldwide, in the utilization of satellite-based communications technology for sustainable development.
