About the product
The World Forum for the Global Youth Network took place in Banff in 1998. This forum brought together an amazing range of youth groups who performed, depicted and described how they work with other young people to deal with drug problems. Since this forum, United Nations Drug Control Programme (UNDCP) has sponsored a series of theme workshops that focus on particular approaches to preventing drug abuse. One of these workshops, exploring the use of sports in preventing youth drug problems, took place from November 12-14, 2001. The theme of the workshop was The Spirit of Sport, and its aim was to examine how sport can be best used to support by-youth/for-youth approaches to substance abuse prevention, and to identify and describe “good practices” for other groups to use.
