The ozone depleting substances (ODS) are being phased out worldwide under the Montreal Protocol. Therefore,the armed forces should accord a high priority to ensure that their use of ODS are properly managed and that the transition to alternatives is a smooth process. This guide has been developed to help armed forces to meet this challenge. It explains step by step how to establish and implement an ODS management programme in line with national obligations under the Montreal Protocol.
