This report is an outcome of the 1998 Expert Group Meeting on Women and Health, following the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing, 1995). The Platform for Action, which resulted from the Conference, calls for creating a coherent approach to women's health care. Women and Health examines how the Platform for Action has been implemented at the national and international levels, integrating gender concerns into health care decision making. It also gives practical recommendations and proposals for action by Governments, civil society, international organizations and other actors in the health field.
