The Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations launched in Uruguay in 1986, concluded in 1994 with the signing of 'The Final Act Embodying the Results of the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade negotiations.' This publication focuses on the impact of the Uruguay Round and its follow-up on developing countries generally and more specifically on the 48 nations referred to as the least developed countries. The studies are presented under the broad areas of agriculture, textiles and clothing, and services. The Uruguay Round Results also presents discussion papers on selected new and emerging issues on the international trade agenda, including: The Implications of Green Countervailing Duties, Competition Policy and the Developing Countries and Labour Standards and Trade.
