This wall chart features tables and graphics regarding urban agglomerations around the world in 2007. It also includes a revision of the world urbanization prospects which corroborates that the world population will reach a landmark in 2008: for the first time in history the urban population will equal the rural one and, from then on, the majority of the world population will be urban. The world population is expected to be 70 per cent urban in 2050. In additon to the wall chart, the results and analysis of the 2007 Revision will be issued in a working paper, in a report and on a CD-ROM.
