About the product

This publication has been prepared in response to requests from around the world to provide communities with help in planning for accidents arising from the transport of dangerous goods. The purpose of TransAPELL is to encourage co-operation between community, government and industry to develop understanding of dangerous goods being transported through communities; to provide emergency planning groups with a method to identify and evaluate the hazards associated with the types of dangerous goods transported within their communities; to provide guidance for local officials and decision-makers on how to develop and evaluate their communities emergency preparedness plans for transport; and to assist with the testing plans and with carrying out training for dangerous goods transport emergencies.
