About the product
Drug abuse and HIV/AIDS continue to have a devastating effect on the social fabric of many Asian and Pacific countries. This publication supplies an update on the drug abuse situation in Asia. It provides an in-depth analysis on the country-level experience in organizing community-based interventions of four countries: Bangladesh, China, the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Viet Nam. In addition, a variety of recommendations are included to assist governments in developing national strategies for community-based drug demand reduction and HIV/AIDS prevention. Also included is a brief chronicle of the 1997 Regional Seminar on Community-based Drug Demand Reduction and HIV/AIDS Prevention held in Bangkok.
