A unified collection of papers, floor discussions and debates which represents the proceedings of the Encounter in Paris from 18 to 19 June 2001, between Israeli and Palestinian policy makers and analysts. Other panelists included representatives from France, Jordan, Lebanon, Senegal, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the United States of America. The objective of the discussion was to gain a better understanding of the prerequisites for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East. It is hoped that the insights offered in this publication will contribute to advancing an Israeli-Palestinian and Arab-Israeli reconciliation.
