Integrated modeling of consequences of degradation of land and water is receiving more and more attention from both policy and science communities. This publication reviews the performance of models for exploring future land use changes at global and regional levels and considers the relevance of model outputs to policy makers. Major socio-economic driving forces and agricultural production potentials, environmental quality and degradation of soil and water were taken into account. The nine studies discussed by specialists on key themes and policy-advisors were presented by their developers.
