About the product
The improved understanding of the health consequences that result from wars, conflicts, social upheavals and displacement of populations has been accompanied by the increasing awareness of the psychosocial and mental issues in the affected populations. This awareness resulted in the development of appropriate strategies to manage the issue of psychiatric needs. Focusing on Kosovo, this publication presents a selection of fourteen papers from international experts. Some of the issues discussed are: understanding the needs of the displaced; myths over the field of intervention; the role of the mental health professional; and mapping trauma.
