About the product
This publication is a compilation of the full reports and selected papers from the Technical Forum activities held at the Third United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space in July 1999. The papers presented discussed such issues as: status of the scientific knowledge of earth and its environment; status and applications of space science and technology; benefits of basic space science and capacity building; information needs and the global approach; economic and societal benefits; and promotion of international cooperation. In addition, the publication presents a report on the technical presentations and activities of the Space Festival for children.
