About the product

Studies have confirmed that any absorption of lead into the body has detrimental effects. With this knowledge, some governments have established programmes to completely eliminate the use of lead as a gasoline additive. This publication discusses the options and programmes policy makers can adopt in their efforts to reduce and eventually eliminate the use of lead in gasoline. It provides guidance on the various policy options available, including fuel distribution and vehicle manufacture approaches. The importance of tax or pricing policies is also highlighted.
