About the product

The international community recognized the existence of a category of countries whose distinctness lies not only ikn the profound poverty of their people but also in the weakness of their economic, institutional and human resources. These countries are identified as `least developed countries'. This publication reviews the socio-economic progress in these countries during the 1980s as well as progress in international support measures during that decade. It also discusses the Paris Declaration and the Programme of Action adopted by the international community to develop and aid these countries.
