About the product
Despite all of the global changes, the advancement of women has recorded far less change than had been envisaged by the Nairobi Forward-Looking Strategy. The growing burden of poverty on women, inequality in access to education and health care remains a factor and violence against women was and continues to be of major concern. In its research, this Review and Appraisal also finds an enormous lack of adequate recognition and support for women's contribution to managing natural resources and safeguarding the environment and they have still not been well represented in economic decision-making in large public, private corporate structures or in national economic policy formulation or programme development. A wealth of information is presented in this Review and Appraisal.
