About the product
The 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea established an international legal regime for the world’s oceans and seas. One area where potential benefits assumed a critical role in the formulation of the legal regime in the Convention and its elaboration is that of marine mineral resources. An important step towards realization of benefits in respect of marine minerals is the acquisition and dissemination of information. The present study is intended to provide information to member States and to their policy-makers on ocean affairs.
