About the product

The Governments of the Asia-Pacific region took a leading position in global efforts to enhance social progress by adopting the Manila Declaration in preparation for the World Summit for Social Development 1995. The Declaration addresses three core issues: poverty alleviation, employment expansion and social integration. It does so by identifying specific, time-bound and regional social development goals and targets, as well as, agreeing on concerted actions toward their attainment.
