Impact of Developments in Scrap Reclamation and Preparation on the World Steel Industry

Format *
One of the conclusions in this study is that the growth of scrap collection offsets the substantial decline in scrap reproduced and recycled in steel works. This was based on a look at the situation in the world's three earliest industrialized regions, the United States, the European Community and Japan and the changes in the world's steel industry's energy needs. Other topics dealt with include the impact of the growing use of scrap on steel-making costs, the environment and the various types and grades of steel. The impacts in Eastern Europe and the developing countries are also covered.
